Scotch broom brings a dash of intense yellow to the spring landscape in Oakridge Oregon. It is a brilliant yellow flower and unfortunately it is an invasive plant that is popping up everywhere. I love the color, but not the impact on our eco system. It is odd but often the case that beauty can be found in the darker side of nature.
This place is on a service road, on a hilltop at the Oakridge Industrial Park (OIP). It used to be part of a mill but when the timber could no longer be harvested, the mill was sold. In the last few years the city has divided it into parcels and taken steps to market them as an industrial park. So far most of the property is still intact, which I love because it is a marvelous place to walk, with ponds, wildlife, and open spaces where the elevation shifts make for interesting paintings.
This painting is offered in a basic white wood frame, that brings out the lovely color in the oil paints.
It ships to United States locations at no additional cost to the buyer.
